Even though he knows it's wrong, he's less reluctant these days than he used to be. Sam ignores that too. He doesn't want to think about the fact that some part of himself likes how it makes him feel, even craves it.
And it's not like what it might do to him matters anyway, is it? What matters is being able to get Lilith. That's all that counts.
